Standards Basis

As per the Outcome Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations 2025.

Division 1 – VET workforce management

3.1 Standard 3.1 – Outcome Standard

The workforce is effectively managed to ensure appropriate staffing to deliver services.

Performance indicator: an NVR registered training organisation facilitates access to continuing professional development opportunities to enable staff of the organisation to effectively perform their role.

3.2 Standard 3.2 – Outcome Standard

Training and assessment is delivered to VET students by credentialled people with current skills and knowledge in training and assessment.

Performance indicator: an NVR registered training organisation ensures all trainers and assessors undertake continuing professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge in training and assessment, including skills and knowledge relating to engaging and supporting VET students.

This Professional Development Plan outlines how the Trainer and Assessor proposes to meet the above requirements for the qualifications delivered.

Maintaining VET Knowledge, Assessment Practice, and Digital Skills

For the purpose of this assessment select at least four activities that collectively maintain currency of training and assessment practice and digital skills.

There is no minimum amount specified in the Standards, but you will validate what is required by your RTO employer and by networking with colleagues in the VET industry. This may include a ‘wish list’ of PD opportunities you would like to attend.

Specific Industry Currency and Professional Development

Ensure over time that there are industry currency and professional development activities for all units of competency being delivered.
